Goals


Promote and facilitate energy efficiency in the LACLEDE / MONAT region.

Lessen Missouri's dependence on fossil fuels, thereby promoting sustainable economic development and environmental preservation.

Advocate for the cost effectiveness and significant environmental benefits of energy efficiency (especially vs. investments in new power plants and other supply options).

Demonstrate that increased energy efficiency can be achieved:
  • Without compromising comfort (or worker productivity)
  • Without compromising economic growth
  • By proper design (architectural & mechanical)
Demonstrate that there is great potential to capture savings in the existing building stock.

Explain that the largest, cleanest, cheapest reserves of energy in Missouri may be found energy efficiency (i.e., energy efficiency as a "resource").

Decrease building energy consumption.

Communicate the benefits of and opportunities for energy efficiency, including:
  • Significant cost savings
  • Environmental benefits
  • Energy Security
  • Reduced dependence on fossil fuels.
